Definition of Back pain-Backache OR What is back pain-Backache ?

Back pain is also called backache or Lumbago or dorsalgia. Back pain is the chronic health ailments which derived from joints, bones, nerves, muscles or other structures in the spine.

Back pain is one of the major ailments problems found in people. Back pain can vary from a dull, continuous pain to a sudden, sharp pain or burning sensation. Back pain can be constantly or occasionally. It stays in one place or pass on to the other areas. The ache may be felt in the neck (and might pass on into the hand and arm), in the upper back, or in the low back, (and might pass on into the leg or foot), and tailbone. The other symptoms such as tingling, weakness or numbness may be included.

Back pain can happen to anyone and having of back pain is very discomforting. It may in the form of mild or severe pain. Most probably back pain takes a short time but goes away after some time. Acute pain comes suddenly and ends from few days to a few weeks. It turns into chronic pain if it has been increasing and taking more than 3 months to end. If it remained untreated on time there can be high risk of getting spinal disk problems.

Signs or Symptoms of Back pain OR Backache

Some major signs or symptoms of back pain OR backache are

Home remedies for Back pain OR Backache

Lemon Juice : Drink lemon juice with a salt as per taste two times in a day. It is very useful home remedy for back pain and provides the relief to a person who is suffering from backache

Potato : Potato in poultice form is another home remedy for back pain. Smash the potatoes after boiling and apply on the back or affected area. Hold it with bandage for an hour.

Chebulic Myroblan : Consume a small pieces of Chebulic Myroblan (fruit) after meals. It is very beneficial remedy for back pain and gives the immediate relief.

Use of Vitamin C : Consume minimum 2000 mg of vitamin C in your diet to treat the condition of back pain. It is very helpful in the case of severe back pain and you can observe the improvement in two days. Consume fruits rich in Vitamin C such as strawberries, citrus fruit, blueberries and tomatoes in your diet.

Garlic Oil : Take 2 or 3 garlic cloves every morning. Prepare garlic oil by frying 10 cloves of garlic in 60 ml of any oil (any such as coconut oil, sesame oil or mustard oil ). Massage garlic oil on the affected area or back, it will provides effective relief and very good home remedy for back pain.

Khas Khas : Make a powder of khas khas grass and sugar candy in equal amounts. Consume 6 grams powder with milk two times in a day. It gives relief in back pain and beneficial home remedy for back pain.

Basil leaves : Boil the 10 basil leaves in 1 cup of water till half amount is remained. Consume this decoction with a pinch of salt once in a day. It is very effective to cure back pain.

Tulsi : Boil 10 leaves of tulsi in 1 cup of water till half syrup is remained. Use this syrup two times in a day. It is very useful in severe back pain.

Guggulu : Consuming half a teaspoon of guggulu with warm water two times in a day after your meals, is very helpful in back pain

Other Oils : Massage the on the back with any mint oil or use turpentine oil, almond oil, eucalyptus oil or caster oil gently. It is proved very beneficial and effective natural remedy in back pain relief and inflammation.

Wheat, coriander, cuscus grass : Soak minimum 60 grams wheat in water the whole night. Mix 30 grams Cuscus grass and coriander and 250 ml milk to it. Boil this until 2/3rd of the amount is remained. Consume this concoction to get relief from back pain.

Yogasanas : Yogasanas such as shavasana, halasana, bhujangasana, uttarpadasana, shalabhasana etc. are very beneficial in reducing the back pain.

Tea : The persons who prefer to drink tea can use this home remedy. Make a tea from the mixture of 5 cloves, 5 black pepper corns and 1 gram ginger powder. Drink this tea two times in a day. It is good home remedy for back pain.

Make a habit to drink honey or glucose in warm water.

Use nuts in your daily diet and include tomato, cabbage, lettuce, cauliflower, carrot, cucumber, spinach, fruits and at least any two lightly cooked vegetables.

Make a habit to exercise regularly as it improves the supply of nutrients to spinal discs and helpful in delay of impairment that happens in older age. To keep your muscle strong do regular exercise and quick walk as it keeps the back muscle strong.

Apply heat on back side or affected area with infrared lamp or hot water bottle to get temporary relief in back pain.

In your regular and busy life proper rest is necessary and very important to cure back pain. Take enough rest flat on your back for minimum 2 to 4 hours.

The persons, who are doing sedentary jobs or living sedentary life style, should get up and make movement by standing from the seats after each hour or 50 to 60 minutes.

Use to bend your knee instead of your shoulders or back at time of picking up something. This exercise is very useful in back pain relief.

Avoid the use of soft cushioned seats and also avoid to seat in one position for long periods and try to change your position frequently. This is useful for the persons who are suffering from back pain.

Control your weight as excess weight raises the stress on the soft tissues of back.

Swimming and stretching are helpful in back pain relief.

If there is severe back pain then eat hot things and keep yourself warm.
